Labor Day Labor Day, a day set aside to honor workers. One resource states that in economics, labor is one of the three basic resources, along with land and capital, which contribute to a nation’s production and economic growth. Given that definition, it is easy to see why we should reflect on the importance of labor for our country. Our country has had incredible success because of the talent and work ethic of our people.
Using that definition of labor, it is extremely difficult to understand why the compensation of so many workers currently tends to be static or is even decreasing and the incredibly high compensation of top management continues to increase.
This Labor Day, I suggest that we celebrate and honor the talents of all our people and find ways to make sure that each and every person’s contribution is appreciated.
