Please Make Sure to Attend the PRECINCT CAUCUS February 4, 2014 6:30pm I am seeking the DFL House District 51A endorsement to serve you for another term as your State Representative. Last year, with the DFL majority in the House, we made progressive advancements in government. We balanced the budget without borrowing from funding dedicated to education, protected voters' rights and passed legislation that allows everyone to marry the person they love. We established free, all-day Kindergarten. We passed legislation that opened new mass transit routes.
In the 2014 session in the House, the focus will be on the bonding bill emphasizing repair of our infrastructure, projects long delayed by the previous "no new taxes" regimes. If you have questions about the legislative process of the 2014 program, please come and discuss with me - see
here...
You can help me get the endorsement by attending your DFL Precinct Caucus on Tuesday, February 4th at 6:30pm at Blackhawk Middle School and putting your name in to be a delegate at the Senate District Convention (which will be on Saturday March 22, 2014 also at Blackhawk Middle School.)
I am asking for your vote on the DFL endorsement on March 22 at the Senate District Convention. Only Delegates to the Senate District Convention can cast a vote. And to become a delegate, you have to attend the Precinct Caucus on February 4, 2014, and volunteer to be a Delegate in the Convention - it is a two-step process!
If you cannot attend the Precinct Caucus, you can still become a Delegate to the Convention! To do that, you must fill out and submit a "Letter Nomination Form". The form is
available online here. Print this form, and fill it out.
It is
IMPORTANT that you submit this form 72 hours minimum in advance to the Senate District Chair (John Wells, 651-686-8615 or by email to chair@dfl51.org), or have the form delivered (by yourself or a friend) to the Chair of your own Precinct Caucus Convener/Chair at the very start of the Precinct Caucus.
It is easy to find your Precinct, too. The Minnesota Secretary of State has a website for this -
http://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us/. You provide your zip code, press GO. Then on the next screen, enter just your house/building number, and select the street just below it. Press GO.
The next screen will show you where you vote on Election Day (also a map!), and in the middle of the screen you will see your Precinct number - write it down and give this Precinct Number to the person who will deliver your LETTER NOMINATION FORM.
Sincerely,
Sandy Masin
